Andrea McArdle
She was a woman who worked in Jean Valjean's factory after his
escape. The discovery of her secret illegitimate child causes her to be dismissed
from her job at the factory. Unable to find other work, she sells herself as a
prostitute to try and make money to keep her daughter Cosette alive. When she
revolts against a crude customer, Javert steps in. Luckily Valjean is able to stop
his cruel punishment. However, it is too late for Fantine. She suffers from
consumption and is hospitalized only to die. On her deathbed, she gives her child to
Valjean.
