Convicted for stealing a loaf of bread, he spends nineteen years of
his life in a prison camp. He is released on parole and managed to escape, unfortunately
incurring the wrath of police inspector Javert, who makes it the point of his existence to
find Valjean. Ten years pass and Valjean soon becomes the Mayor of a town called
Montreuil-sur-Mer. Javert tells the "Mayor" of a man they've recently
recaptured for parole violation, a man called Valjean. Because of the guilt of
sending an innocent man to prison, Valjean reveals his identity to Javert. He
escapes Javert in order to rescue the young Cosette, Fantine's illigigmate daughter from
the greedy Thenadiers. Valjean raises Cosette as his own daughter and lives his life
to please her...
