Gemma Wardle
She is the daughter of the Thenardiers. When they move to Paris, she falls in love with Marius. Marius doesn't notice Eponine other than as a friend. When her beloved becomes enraptured with Cosette, she helps him find her. When Marius goes to the barricades, she follows. Marius does not want Eponine to be in danger, so he sends her with a letter to Cosette. She does return though, and is shot by the French army. She is seen as a martyr by the revolutionaries and lives on to later guide Valjean to salvation.
